Our History
“At a very young age, we witnessed traditional acts of helping and giving to people in need. Seeing acts of kindness within our family towards others brought about a sense of social awareness and responsibility for me growing up and I wanted to pay it forward by creating an organization to give back to those less fortunate.”

Ajialouna's History
“At a very young age, we witnessed traditional acts of helping and giving to people in need. Seeing acts of kindness within our family towards others brought about a sense of social awareness and responsibility for me growing up and I wanted to pay it forward by creating an organization to give back to those less fortunate.”
With this in mind and just a few volunteers, Ajialouna was born in 1995 to focus on shaping childrens’ lives for a better future through school health programs and orphan sponsorship. This was built on a belief that all people deserve equal access to good health, social security and educational opportunities, with a focus on underprivileged families in the Lebanese community (widows, orphans, students, families in need, the elderly and women) to improve their standard of living and provide awareness and opportunities to education, health and an aim to become financially independent.
Over the years, Ajialouna continued to expand its reach and set up new programs, and in 1998 established an office in Tripoli to serve the northern population. 29 years after Ajialouna first opened its doors, our dedicated volunteer base has grown from 11 volunteers in 1995 to over 132 women volunteers in 2023 between Beirut and Tripoli.
Youth engagement has also been a large part of Ajialouna’s success with over 100 young men and women between the ages of 15 – 26 making up Ajialouna’s Youth Committee of volunteers.
