Coming together in unprecedented times
The devastating explosion at the Beirut port on August 4, 2020 rocked the Lebanese capital, leaving more than 200 dead and 6,000 individuals wounded. The deadly blast left homes, businesses and public infrastructure uninhabitable and destroyed. The blast occurred while Lebanon was already reeling from the worst economic, political, financial and public health crises in over 30 years.
In the aftermath of the Beirut port explosion, Ajialouna launched its “كلنا بيروت” (We’re All Beirut) – to aid in the repair and reconstruction efforts of homes and small businesses that sustained damages.
Ajialouna swiftly mobilized following the blast to assist individuals and families impacted by the blast through its resources, initiatives, dedicated volunteers and strategic partnerships under its 'Kilna Beirut' Relief Initiative:
Cleaning up broken glass and debris in affected homes and shops notably in Mar Mikhael, Gemmayzeh, Geitawi,Achrafieh and Saifi
Distribution of 3,652 food boxes (“mouneh”) to those affected

Providing temporary accommodation in the short term for individuals and families whose homes have been determined to be unfit/unsafe
Distribution of 180 bed mattresses in Karantina area; Distribution of 2,000 hygiene kits
Site assessments and surveys with expert engineers and our volunteers to rehabilitate and repair homes and small businesses at no cost to families and individuals in our reconstruction efforts
Distribution of 2,000 vouchers worth 100 million L.L for those affected by the explosion in need of clothes; redeemable at selected locations
Leverage Ajialouna’s pharmacy and medical centers to assist people with their treatments and access to medicine free of charge
