Our History

“At a very young age, we witnessed traditional acts of helping and giving to people in need. Seeing acts of kindness within our family towards others brought about a sense of social awareness and responsibility for me growing up and I wanted to pay it forward by creating an organization to give back to those less fortunate.”

Ajialouna's History

“At a very young age, we witnessed traditional acts of giving and helping those in need. Acts of kindness within our own family inspired a deep sense of social awareness and responsibility in me as I grew up. I knew I wanted to pay it forward by creating an organization dedicated to supporting the less fortunate.” With this vision and just a handful of dedicated volunteers, Ajialouna was founded in 1995 committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children through school health programs and orphan sponsorship. Our work has always been rooted in the belief that everyone deserves equal access to quality healthcare, social support, and educational opportunities. We focused on empowering underserved Lebanese communities widows, orphans, students, families in need, the elderly, and women by raising awareness, improving living standards, and fostering pathways to self-sufficiency.

As Ajialouna grew, so did its impact. In 1998, we expanded our presence by establishing an office in Tripoli, extending our reach to communities across North Lebanon. Now, nearly 30 years since opening our doors, Ajialouna’s volunteer base has grown from just 11 members in 1995 to more than 132 active women volunteers in Beirut and Tripoli as of 2025. Youth engagement has also played a vital role in our journey, with over 100 young men and women aged 15 to 26 forming Ajialouna’s Youth Committee, contributing their time, energy, and passion to building a stronger, more compassionate Lebanon.
